Sustenance, curated by Stephen Lapthisophon and Anne Lawrence, and featuring works by gallery artists Darryl Lauster and Linnea Glatt was reviewed by D Magazine's art blog Front Row. The show has received a lot of praise, and it is open again this weekend from 11- 7 on Saturday and Sunday. It will be open each weekend through October 3rd. So go check it out for yourself!

We are saddened by the recent death of Texas artist, and long time friend, Douglas MacWithey. The gallery had a history with the artist, first showing his text driven paper work and metal sculpture in 1986. His keen wit and critical eye will be missed, but most of all his friendship. MacWithey's work can be found many in private and public collections, including the Dallas Museum of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

Services will be held Saturday, September 4th at 2:00 PM at the Grace United Methodist Church, located at 4105 Junius, Dallas, TX.

Congratulations to Johnnie Winona Ross who will have a show at the Harwood Museum of Art in Taos New Mexico. The show opens September 4, 2010 and runs through January 23, 2011. A brief excerpt from the guide that will accompany the show:

"Through his paintings, Ross attempts to reconcile the various paradoxes that revolve around his chosen vocabulary and style of painting: the natural work and the grid; the gesture, dynamism, and psychic energy of Abstract Expressionism and the analytical detachment and pristine finish of Minimalism; the material and the immaterial; the finite and the infinite; surface and object; ancient and modern."
